The Lexus IS (XE20) is the second generation of the Lexus IS line of compact executive cars. Information technology is a limited (k units) version of IS 250 for the United kingdom market. It included a full body kit, 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, optional eighteen-inch Tsuki rims, Worcester Black interior fabric, with optional sports pedals and heated front seats.[77]

Cherry-Edge Black edition (2009–) [edit]

Information technology is a limited (500 units) edition of the IS 250 and IS 350 for Japan marketplace. It included largely black leather interior with red trim.[78]

2010 IS 350 C F-Sport (2010) [edit]

It is a limited (100 units) version of IS 350 C with 19-inch alloy wheels, special edition badging, a new front grille, lowered and upgraded sport break, larger brakes, and special blue interior stitching on blackness leather seats.

The vehicle went on sale in late March 2010 for Us$57,500.[79]

IS SUNRISE (2010) [edit]

Information technology is a concept vehicle based on IS 250 sedan designed in conjunction with Spanish pattern duo Rock Designs, commemorating the fifth anniversary of the launch of Lexus Nippon. The IS "Sunrise" model included a multi-tone interior with contrast seat leather hues of white, blue, and gray.[lxxx]

In 2008, the 2d generation IS 350 was entered in the Super GT race series in the GT300 class (cars with approximately 300 horsepower). Extensively modified from the factory car, with upgrades including a V8 engine,[81] the No. nineteen Team Racing Project Bandoh IS 350 driven past Manabu Orido and Tsubasa Abe achieved its start victory in its fifth race at the Motegi GT300 race.[82] Other IS 350 GT300 competitors included those of the WedsSport and Green Tec/Kumho teams.[81] In 2009, ii manufacturer sanctioned Racing Project/Bandoh and Team Reckless/Shift IS 350s were also announced for contest, both equipped with 3.0L V8 engines.[83] The Project Bandoh WedsSport IS 350, driven by Manabu Orido and Tatsuya Kataoka, won both driver and team title in the GT300 class that season.[84]

In 2009, Gazoo Racing produced a Lexus IS F VLN racing vehicle, which was entered in the SP8 class of the ADAC-Westfalenfahrt VLN 4h endurance race. The vehicle finished second to the team's Lexus LF-A in the race.[85] The IS F VLN racer was also entered in the 2009 24 Hours Nürburgring race and finished third in the SP8 form.[86] The IS F was also after entered in the DMV Grenzlandrennen VLN 4h endurance race in Baronial 2009 where information technology won the SP8 class.[87] In Gazoo'south win at the DMV Grenzlandrennen VLN race on 29 August 2009,[87] Kazunori Yamauchi, the developer of Gran Turismo series who had little experience in bodily motorsport, was also one of their drivers,[88] along with Peter Lyon and Hideshi Matsuda.[87] An IS F driven by Peter Lyon, Hideshi Matsuda, Kazunori Yamauchi, and Owen Mildenhall participated in the 2010 24 Hours Nürburgring and finished in 4th place in the SP8 grade, behind the 1st identify ranked Lexus LFA.[89]

In 2012, Japanese drift racer Daigo Saito entered an IS 250 C in the Formula Migrate Asia series. The car, which was a victim of the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami and due to be scrapped, was purchased by Saito and heavily customized for drift racing use. The most notable modification was the swapping of the stock engine to a 2JZ-GTE from a Marker Four Toyota Supra. With 1200 horsepower under the hood, Daigo obliterated the competition in that flavour, winning all the rounds and earning the championship in disarming fashion.[ citation needed ]

Several awards won by the second generation Lexus IS include J.D. The recording can then be plugged into a PlayStation 3 where i can view a virtual recreation of the race, or compete against one's own race record.[117]

Production [edit]

The second generation Lexus IS is produced in Tahara, Aichi, and Miyawaka, Fukuoka, Nihon. In near markets sold, the IS has served every bit the compact fellow member of the Lexus lineup, and information technology was the smallest Lexus model until the CT 200h.
